Assistant Project Manager

Job Description

American Plumbing & Heating Corporation is one of the largest plumbing installation contractors in the state.  Our Corporate Headquarters is conveniently located on the South Shore just off Route 3 Exit 14 in Norwell, MA.  We have been in business for 30 years and are a proud member of the U.S. Green Building Council. 

We perform a widely diversified scope of plumbing and fire protection work around the state with a high concentration of work in Boston and Cambridge.  Our Clients are in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Hospital, Residential, Educational and Sporting Arena businesses.

About the Position:

The position of Assistant Project Manager will be to assist Project Managers with their daily duties managing a multitude of diverse plumbing projects.  Projects range from residential service calls to high rise hospital projects.  Ultimately, the goal of an Assistant Project Manager is to gain the knowledge and ability to estimate and manage plumbing projects on their own and eventually work into the role of Project Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

Working under the supervision of a Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager will:

  • Print and organize drawings and specifications for use by the Project Managers and Field Personnel.
  • Assemble and distribute project specific submittals.
  • Review and apply for permits.
  • Review drawings and specifications to correspond with multiple product Vendors to assemble pricing for estimating and assist in purchasing.
  • Correspond with General Contractors to provide and receive project information.
  • Assist in preparation of estimates, schedules, planning, and cost reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of closeout documents including as-built drawings, warranties, operation and maintenance manuals, and scheduling of systems training.
  • Travel to jobsites is part of this position.  Reliable transportation is required.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Project Manager role will possess the following qualities:

  • Ability to be a team player and work with various team members.
  • Ability to take and absorb direction and work on your own.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High School diploma is requirement.  Vocational Technical experience is preferred. College experience or degree is preferred especially in a technical field.
  • Strong computer skills.  Experience with Microsoft Office products and Sage Timberline is preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong mechanical ability is a plus, plumbing experience is a major plus.

CAD Coordinator-Plumbing

We are looking for CAD Coordinator for our Plumbing department to join our dynamic, fast paced team at American Plumbing & Heating. The right candidate will work closely with Project Managers and our Pre-Fab teams to support all projects for our Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Sciences, Health Care and Residential clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Managers with plumbing / piping estimates, design, drawings and documentations.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects at once in a fast paced environment
  • Coordinates with Pre-fab teams on drawings
  • Correspond with General Contractors to provide and receive project information.
  • Print and organize drawings and specifications for use by the Project Managers and Field Personnel.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the CAD Coordinator role will possess the following qualities:

  • Ability to be a team player and work with various team members.
  • Ability to take and absorb direction and work on your own.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Software Experience in AutoDesk products.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Project Manager-Estimator

We are looking for a seasoned Project Manager/Estimator to join our dynamic, fast paced team at American Plumbing & Heating. The Project Manager/Estimator will oversee Plumbing projects for our Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Sciences, Health Care and Residential clients.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Developing Detailed Budgets and Estimates for Bid Proposals
  • Day to day Management of multiple projects and clients
  • Daily communication with our Foreman to ensure they have the labor, materials, tools and direction to maintain the schedule and be most productive
  • Project Submittals, O&M Manuals, Warranties and Permitting
  • Attend on-site project meetings with General Contractors and other trades
  • Job Cost Management, material buy out and procurement
  • Monthly Billing of all Contracts with our accounts receivable
  • Project Managers need to be organized with the ability to multi-task

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Estimator/Project Manager role will possess the following qualities:

  • Must have 5+ years of experience as an Estimator/Project Manager  
  • Ability to be a team player and work with various team members
  • Ability to take and absorb direction and work on your own.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills.  Experience with Microsoft Office products and Sage Timberline is preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.
