President Joe Clancy grew up in the piping industry. Both his father and grandfather were well-known plumbing contractors. Joe opened American Plumbing and Heating in 1985. It is a company that reflects his emphasis on hiring quality people.

“At American Plumbing and Heating we are serious when we say that we take special pride in the quality of our employees. You are only as successful as the people you have working with you."

“My goal as the company president is to make sure we maintain an ‘A-List’ of professional project managers, foremen and installers who are problem solvers. We emphasize good communication, and timely solutions. We know that owners and contractors want to work with a company they can rely on. We aim to be that company."

headline I look for people who work well in today’s fast-paced construction environment. From our truck drivers to our lead project managers, American’s people take pride in what they do. They are properly trained, they work intelligently. All of us are held to a standard of professionalism. A successful job involves more than just putting in pipe.”

Dan Bent, heads up estimating, project management, and manpower for American. He joined the company in 1989, and has played a key role in our growth.

What makes a project a success? "It’s that combination of professional planning and follow-through. As Vice-President, I make sure that all the pieces are in place."

“A big part of a running a successful commercial plumbing and fire protection business is understanding how all the elements fit together: pricing, building information modeling, coordination, scheduling, manpower. Today’s plumbing and mechanical contractor is worlds away from the way the business operated even a couple of decades ago. Efficiency is a necessity. Time is at a premium. Field leadership and skills are essential. You need a group of people you can count on 100%."

“At American, our projects are tracked on a daily basis. We make sure that staffing and materials are on the site and always moving forward. We want clients to be satisfied clients. My job is to guarantee that happens.”
